Recently Derek and I were watching an episode of BARTER KINGS on TV. We had an idea that it would be really neat if we could do the same thing. I asked Derek if he had anything we could trade for something else that we needed. He replied and said he had a set of brand new golf clubs that have never been used. The next day he posted the trade. We decided he would trade golf clubs for 'house work' and 'remodeling supplies' such as tile, wood, etc. After a few days, we had a reply from a man we call, Bill the Builder. He got the idea from watching Barter Kings as well. He said he loves to play golf and would trade helping us do a bathroom remodel for the golf clubs. Even trade? Maybe. Here are some pictures are the bathroom demolition. Hopefully the bathroom will be complete next weekend!

HOME PROGRESS!!

We have been working hard to get our house the way we "dreamed" of. Here's a peak at our attempts to make this house OUR HOME. We've got so much done already but ALOT still needs to be done.
Here's our master bedroom. We still need to change out the light fixture from te one above, hang pretty sheer white curtains, and pain a tree mural with birds on the wall to the right of the bed.

We also need closet doors to the closets.

Here's a peak at our guest bedroom. Still need framed wall art, white sheer curtains, green rug, and new light fixture, as well as new closet doors.

Eventually, pain furniture grey or white??

Here's a peak at our living room. We've painted the accent wall, and hung white shelves. We still needs
1. curtains
2. wall art on the wall where the TV is to the left.
3. new couch and chair with YELLOW/blue pillows.

In progress office. Still want to get pictures hung above the desk ei: diplomas, cork board
curtains need to be hung, heart DIY wall art, and a natural rug in the middle of the floor.

We ended up turning the "old" den off the living room into our office. I like this layout alot better.

Here's our "dining room" this room is off the kitchen and was supposed to be a second "sitting room" or "living room".
We still have to do the following:
1- white chair covers
2- grey/white or black/white curtains
3-paint pantry door white and get shelving for closet or storage
4- wall art DIY or wedding pictures
5- buffet tables and lamps x 2
6-rug for underneath table
7- switch out fan for DIY chandelier curtosy of my mother

Heres the view looking into the kitchen. Hopefully soon we will be able to update the kitchen on a budget. Looking to get granite countertops though. Can't decide whether to get brown cabinets or white cabinets in the kitchen?

Here's a pic of our entryway. Still need to pain doors white and get new oil rubbed bronze door fixtures. Also want to be make this picture wall expand at the top and bottom.

Our new media cabinet from Ikea:) LOVE!

Our awesome lamps my mom bought me for my birthday when we moved in. I found the side tables on craigslist for $15 for both and spray painted them white.

Taylor's Prom

My brother Taylor went to prom last weekend and we were there to take pictures before the big night. These pictures were taken at a local park at the gazebo.

the floors were refinished (sanded and stained with a dark walnut stain)

dining room in progress pictures, painting trim and walls after priming both with oil based primer (1 coat which works best for wood paneling)

Fire place finished... painted black satin. I also painted the harth on the floor with white semi gloss paint (same used for trim work) and three coats of polyurethane acraylic
