It's july 2014

It's almost July 4th and we took pictures infront of our beautiful home. My flowers have really grown thanks to the daily watering from Derek and I to the perfect amount of sunlight arranged by the positioning of house. The night of these pictures we went to eat Mexican with our dear friends Haley and nick who are expecting little carter this September! We really can't wait to meet carter and have okay dates!!!
I will begin my new adventure on August 9th as Davis will begin his new adventure on daycare starting August 4th. I'm very optimistic that we are both going to love our new journeys. I will be working 4 10 hour shifts as an NP for acute care service general surgery. I can not wait to embark on this new adventure. Very different from the RN perspective and very different hours. I have really enjoyed my time with Davis working part time. Only 1 more month left!!! Beach at the end of August with my family!! Can't wait!! Davis' first beach trip!!! Should be interesting driving 8 hours with a 5 month old ;)
And more about Davis... He is sleeping through the night! He started about a week ago making 8 to 10 hour stretches in the middle of the night! Mommy and daddy are so proud of our little boy! He amazes me everyday! He loves to swing, be read too, watch cartoon, sleep, eat, and have playtime outside as of now! No more fussy wussy colic or acid reflux (whatever that was the first three months) thank goodness that's over! Love u little angel!!

New car Tuesday-- Davis 3 months old

Today the family drove to Danville to pick up our new car... A 2012 nissan pathfinder. It has tan leather seats, 50,000 miles, third row seating and rear air conditioning for Davis. Davis did soo good! He slept most the time in the car. He woke up and ate some milk and laughed as we were signing the papers and paying the guys!! We then went to eat at ruby Tuesday before driving back to Roanoke! Davis ride back with me and Derek drove the old car home... It was a nice day!! Funny story... Derek was putting Davis' stroller in the back of the car and as he was doing so ... Two soda cans spilt all in the back of the new car.... I was so mad at home for a few seconds . The man told us he would shampoo the back so it wouldn't be sticky... Thank goodness!!!

Davis Shelton Wingo -2 months

Monthly pictures

Davis is so active and alert these days. One month has proven the difference. His two month check up he weighed 12lbs 10oz. Davis is still being fed breastmilk via bottle. My pumping story will have to be next blog post to help any moms out that exclusively pump.
Davis enjoys to smile at his mommy, take car rides and stroll rides, go to the park, swing, look and hear his toy Sophie, sleep, eat, laugh, coo, go outside and enjoy the fresh air.
Some of his dislikes are his paci.

He is such a joy to us. Tomm I head Back to work and endure the working mommy life. Davis will go to daycare in August.:/

First week of life

Hi everyone!!! I am such a good baby!! I let my mommy and daddy know when I am hungry, peed, or pooed!! And I sleep most all the time. I am not fussy or wifey!!

It's true--- babies really do let you
Know what they need if u just are in tune with your baby you can easily read the signs!! The experts say that in the first month of life there is really no schedule for the baby to be on...when the baby is hungry- feed him--whenever he wants!!!

This first week has been a whirlwind of emotions!!

The first night we were home I had to go to the Emergency room for severe constipation and hemrroids from the delivery. That same night my milk had come in and I really was unsure of what to do with it. The next morning we trucked over to lactation to get my breast 'uningorged'. They said it was pretty bad,
Worst they had seen and felt sorry for me:/ the next day after that we had three doctors appointments-- peds, peds cardiology and lactation. Davis has a small ventricular septal defect in his heart. He said it should close by 2 months and that it was pretty minor so that was reassuring!!! His peds visit went well--- he was gaining weight--- eating about 3oz of breast milk pump expressed every 3 hours on average. Well-- those first days flew by as well as the weekend bc of all the visitors
And come Monday Derek was back to work!!!! Oh my gosh!!! Already!! It was a whirlwind!! By this time I thought I should
Be feeling better but I hadn't! Sleep deprived and sore from hemmroids and episiotomy I called the doctor. I asked her if I could come in that I think I might have an infection in my vagina. She got me in Tuesday and said that it was not infected but I did have a stitch that was rubbing a ulcer In my vagina making it hurt so bad to the point I couldn't walk! So I thought I should be feeling better by Wednesday or Thursday! That was not the case so Thursday morning I called her again to take another look... Still she took up another stitch to help it heal faster and make the pain go away.. Also this week I had a job interview which was very important to me that I could not miss. So at 4 o'clock that day I went to the job interview-- it went well I believe and go back into weeks to shadow. I hope I get the job it seems like my dream job-- it's working in a general surgery acute-care inpatient setting seeing patients that come in through the Emergency department or are already in the hospital. Perfect for my emergency department and post anesthesia care unit experience!!

With all that being said the first two weeks are definitely something to write about!!! You are filled with so many emotions about being a new mom overwhelmed with everything in visitors, sleep deprived and round-the-clock feedings!!! I hear it gets better! But it is all worth it for the perfect cutest little boy I have ever seen that I am so lucky to be his mommy!!! πŸ’™πŸ˜ƒ❤️πŸΌπŸ‘Ά

Baby due date!!!

Our baby boy Davis Shelton was born March 24th, 2014 at 3:20 in the afternoon. He weighed 7lbs and 18 2/3 inches!! He is the light of my life, an angel, a little bit of everything and we are so in love!!! Our official due date was April 2nd. I had him 9 days early!!!!!! We weren't really expecting to have him early at all ... Being that I felt really good up to the day before, I was fairly all baby and being first time pregnancy-- we were all thinking id be late.

The birth story!!! How it all went down!!

The day before I went into labor I was extremely tired-- like exhaustion feeling... Which I hadn't felt that tired since the first trimester!!! I actually didn't think anything of it but that Sunday I slept all day long!!!! Up to this point, I was doing pretty good, still working and had planned to go to work the Monday he was born!!!!

I went to bed that night and woke up at 4:15am to a little drop in my underwear!! I thought--- hmm? That's weird and went to the bathroom...again most trickle of water came out into the toilet. Again I was unsure but I thought did my water just break?? I then began to urinate and saw there was a difference. The water was just like it is--- clear in color at this point!! I said yup- it's time and called out to my husband who was fast asleep in bed. Derek wake up!!!! So he woke up and we called the hospital to get our room ready. The nurse said take our time, pack and go get some breakfast if u want to eat. We arrived at the hospital at 5:30am.

We checked in, got all our paper work signed and called all our family members and I texted my friends! After all that it was about 8:30 when dr. Clapp came to see me. Afterwards, we started pitocin to induce the contractions bc at that time I wasn't feeling or having them and I was only 0cm dilated. So we waited after that and about 2 hours later I was starting to have the contractions every 3 minutes and felt them... They were getting intense so I decided to get the epidural. Dr. Clapp came to check on me again at 12 and I was still 0cm. She opened me manually and I went to 4cm. I was finally relaxed but started having upper bAck pain after I was given the epidural. Now this Pain was 10 out of 10 pain radiating down my arms and I couldn't move my neck! It was horrible! By this time dr.
Clapp was back to check me... This was 3 o'clock.... And I was 10cm dilated and crowning!!!! She opened my legs quickly and told me to push!!! This happened so quickly we were not expecting it!!! We thought atleast I would be in labor all day and probably have him that night --bc she said most ladies will dilate 1cm an hour!!! Oh no... Not me!!! I pushed 12 times and it lasted about 20 minutes and he was here!! The cutest little bundle of joy!!!

First bath!!

Going home!!! I spent 2 days in the hospital and we were off to home!!!!
